In a collaborative effort between Smile Train USA, CIFBD Foundation Bangladesh, and Ibn Sina Hospital Sylhet Limited, this project has been providing free cleft surgeries since June 2011. Together, these organizations have transformed the lives of approximately 4,500 children, giving them the opportunity to smile and succeed.
CIFBD lip and palate, the most common craniofacial abnormalities, often leave children in Bangladesh isolated and deprived due to social stigma and financial constraints. Many families cannot afford the surgery, while cultural misconceptions add to their challenges. Through CIFBD Foundation’s collaboration with leading healthcare partners, a dedicated team of expert surgeons offers free, life-changing surgeries to these children, restoring their smiles, dignity, and opportunities for a better future.
